I am trying to back up all my e-mail messages and messages stored in local folders in Outlook Express. When I copy and paste the Identities folder, the files are all dbx files and only open in code in WordPad. How can I back up my folders and messages and be able to open them in Word?

Yep, you're only relying on the ability of the online backup supplier to keep the data safe and secure and the decisions by management whether to stay in business or not. In case they go bankrupt is one reason why I still have an external USB drive as well that I periodically backup files to.
